On the other hand, we have the conquistadors. The conquistadors explored the Carribean Islands, Mexico, Florida, and Americas' Desert South West. Ninety sailors traveled with Christopher Colombus. I think they did not receive credit for the discovery because Colombus was the leader & that the 90 sailors were less important then Colombus. Colombus traveled on three ships: the "Santa Maria", the "Nina", and the "Pinta". The ships traveled by wind.

If Christopher Columbus would have gave the other 90 sailors credit, I don't think that Christopher Columbus would be as famous and memorable as he is now. The only thing I think that would be memorable about Christopher Columbus is the three ships.
Prince Henry the Navigator was an Portuguese explorer whose goals were to find new trade routes to compete with other Italians and to spread Christianity and help defeat its Muslim rivals. Inventions such as the 'Caravel' which was an improved ship which was faster and more maneuverable. They also made more accurate maps as each voyage came back with new information. Their were several Spanish explorers such as Ponce De Leon, Hernan Cortes, Francisco Convonado and Hernando De Soto. They wanted to discover a 'New World.' Several states such as Florida, New Mexico and Texas were explored by the Conquistadors. The Conquistadors didn't receive the credit they deserved because Christopher Columbus was the "leader" and that it was 90 sailors with him and he wanted to get all the credit. Henry the Navigator was a Portugese Prince in the late 1300s to the mid 1400s. He made a school of navigation, hints the name Henry the "Navigagtor", which taught how to use a compass and astrolabe(the study of stars). The Spanish Explorers where looking for an easier way to get their goods back and foward from Eastern Asia so they looked towards the seas for an answer. Christophor Columbus came up with this plan and asked the king and queen of spain to give them funding to go on this quest. So he and 90 spanish explorers took this voyage on three ships named the Santa Clara, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria/Gallega. Back then they thought the world was flat thought by going straight across the Atlantic Ocean would get them to the other side faster but instead they endded up finding a New World. The reason I believe that the 90 spanish men didn't recieve credit was because they were basicly the lower class in this time frame and were not really needed anywhere else so they just took the job as shipmen.
